The Nevada Women's Fund supports women and families through the allocation of scholarships to individual women to help them increase their chances for self-sufficient futures. In 2007, the Nevada Women's Fund awarded $186,341 in scholarships to 115 intelligent and well-deserving women. 2007 scholarship snapshot:
-Recipients range in age from 16 to 60 years of age
-28% of recipients are ethnic minorities
-Recipients have a total of 72 children (65 minor children)
In addition to helping women achieve their educational goals, the Nevada Women's Fund scholarship program also teaches women about the value of philanthropy.

2007 scholarship recipient Helen says, “It is wonderful to have an organization that specifically assists women to get ahead in the world, and I will do what I can to help those who come after me. People helping other people, is what makes life worth living. Thanks for giving me the assistance I needed.”
Recipient Amy adds, “I want to thank you so much for this scholarship. Your help is making it possible for me to provide for my family. Thank you for believing in my abilities to earn a degree!”
These scholarships are made possible only with the generous support of our donors. To contribute to a scholarship, you may:
· establish an endowed or restricted scholarship fund · contribute to an existing scholarship fund · contribute toward Golden Compass Society scholarships
We no longer accepting 2009/2010 scholarship applications. Please check back in January 2010 for the 2010/2011 application.
