Degree Seeking Scholarships

These scholarships are awarded to students who are enrolled in a program that leads to a formal academic degree, such as:

  • Associate's Degree

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Master's Degree

  • Doctorate programs attending post-secondary university or college

Non-Degree Seeking Scholarships

These scholarships support individuals pursuing education and training pathways outside of a traditional academic degree program, such as:

  • Certificate Programs

  • Trade or Vocational Training

  • Continuing Education or Professional Development

  • Licensing or Certification​​

Scholarship History

Nevada Women's Fund scholarship program was established to empower women in Northern Nevada by supporting their educational pursuits. Since its inception, the program has awarded millions of dollars in scholarships to women across the region, helping them achieve their academic and career goals. Over the years, the program has expanded to include support for students in a variety of fields, with a focus on fostering economic self-sufficiency and professional advancement. Through this commitment, Nevada Women’s Fund continues to invest in the potential of women to drive positive change in their communities.

Degree Seeking Scholarship
Criteria & Deadlines

CRITERIA:

​

  • Nevada Women’s Fund welcomes applications from women residing in northern or rural Nevada, which includes all Nevada counties except Clark County.

​

  • Applicants must be enrolled in a post-secondary University or College located in northern or rural Nevada, or in an accredited online program (if attending a school outside of northern or rural Nevada, the chosen field of study must not be available at any institution within northern Nevada).

​

  • Applicants must have an unweighted GPA of 3.0 or greater.

​

  • Scholarship recipients must be enrolled full-time in school in the upcoming Fall Semester to receive Nevada Women's Fund scholarship funds.

    • For undergraduate students, full-time is considered a minimum of 12 semester credits.​

    • For graduate students, full-time is considered a minimum of 9 credits; however, graduate students with a 20 hour per week assistantship can be considered full-time with a minimum of 6 semester credits.

    • Medical students are automatically considered full-time.

  • Applicants must upload:

    • A copy of your 2025 or 2026 FAFSA Submission Summary.

    • A copy of your most recent school transcript.​​

    • A copy of your State of Nevada issued ID or Driver's License.

​

  • Eligible applications are reviewed by the Nevada Women’s Fund Allocations Committee and scored based on financial need, academic performance, personal background, and demonstrated merit or achievement.

​

  • Scholarship Awards will be announced in April each year.

DEADLINES:

​

​APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED OCTOBER 1, 2025 THRU JANUARY 5, 2026

Annual Application Cycle:

  • October 1, 2025 - January 5, 2026: Applications are open and may be submitted.

  • February 2026 - March 2026: Nevada Women's Fund Allocations Committee reviews applications and makes scholarship funding decisions.

  • April 2026: Scholarship awardees are announced.

Non-Degree Seeking Scholarship
Criteria & Deadlines

​CRITERIA:

​​

  • Nevada Women’s Fund welcomes applications from women residing in northern or rural Nevada, which includes all Nevada counties except Clark County.

​

  • Applicants must be enrolled in one of the following accredited programs:

    • A Vocational or Trade Program

    • A Certification or Licensure Program

    • A Non-Degree Continuing Education or Online Program

​

  • If the program of study is outside northern or rural Nevada, it must be in a field not offered at any institution within northern Nevada.

​

  • Applicants must hold a minimum of a high school diploma; no GPA requirement applies.

​

  • Applicants must upload:

    • A copy of the first two pages of your most recent IRS 1040 or 1040EZ tax return. For privacy, Social Security Numbers should be redacted before submitting. 

    • A copy of your State of Nevada issued ID or Driver's License.

    • A copy of your high school diploma or degree.

​

  • Applicants must be enrolled in their program within approximately two months of being notified of the award and before receiving Nevada Women’s Fund scholarship funds.

​

  • Eligible applications are reviewed by the Nevada Women’s Fund Allocations Committee and scored based on financial need, personal background, and demonstrated merit or achievement.

​

  • Applicants may receive one award per year, based on a rolling 12-month period.

​

  • Scholarship awards will be announced in the third month of each quarter.

​APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED QUARTERLY STARTING 

OCTOBER 1, 2025 - OCTOBER 31, 2025
