2026 Scholarship Acceptance Day

At Nevada Women's Fund, we believe a scholarship is more than financial assistance, it's an investment in a woman's future. That's why this year's annual Scholarship Acceptance Day was designed to equip recipients with the resources, relationships, and confidence to succeed long after receiving their award. This year's event brought together community partners who shared their expertise on professional development, financial wellness, and career readiness, while recipients enjoyed networking opportunities, complimentary professional headshots by Peter Walker, and educational presentations, all designed to support the next steps in their educational and professional journeys.

Dress for Success Northern Nevada empowered scholarship recipients with practical tools

to help them confidently enter the workforce. Their presentation focused on career readiness, professional attire, personal branding, and the importance of making a strong first impression in interviews and the workplace. Recipients also learned about the organization's ongoing services, including career coaching, personal styling, and professional development programs, and had the opportunity to sign up for a complimentary styling appointment that includes a professional interview outfit.

Greater Nevada Credit Union shared practical financial strategies to help recipients build a strong financial foundation as they continue their education and begin their careers. Topics included budgeting, saving, establishing and maintaining good credit, managing debt responsibly, and planning for long-term financial success. The presentation encouraged recipients to make informed financial decisions that will benefit them throughout college and well into their professional lives.

Robert Half provided valuable career insights to help scholarship recipients transition from

the classroom to the workplace with confidence. Their presentation covered professional communication, workplace expectations, networking, resume development, interview preparation, and strategies for building a successful career. Recipients also learned about complimentary career services available through Robert Half, including one-on-one resume reviews and mock interview sessions designed to strengthen their confidence and prepare them for future employment opportunities.

Professional photographer Peter Walker generously donated his time and talent to provide scholarship recipients with complimentary professional headshots. Whether used for LinkedIn profiles, résumés, scholarship applications, or professional networking, these headshots help recipients present themselves with confidence as they begin the next chapter of their educational and career journeys.

The impact of Scholarship Acceptance Day reached far beyond the presentations themselves.
